40 Years of Fruit Innovation and Growth - after humble beginnings on 19 October 1983, TopFruit celebrated its 40th anniversary on 19 October 2023. It was an occasion to celebrate the successes and also to reflect on the lessons learned over the past 40 years. From the first successful apple variety, Panorama Golden, managed by TopFruit in the 80's, we now manage over 50 commercial contracts consisting of numerous varieties ranging from Pome Fruit, Stone Fruit, Table Grapes, Berries, Nuts and Kiwifruit. The newest of these varieties are currently being evaluated in over 80 test sites with the more established ones making significant contributions to the South African fruit industry.
